Geoprobe Macro-Core Soil Sampling

The Geoprobe Macro-Core Sampler is the most frequently used direct push soil sampler. This tool is used for recovering larger volumes of soil cores. Unconsolidated materials that can be collected with this tool include soils, sediments, and waste materials, or mixtures of these materials. This sampler can also be used in sampling fine to coarse-grain sandy materials with some fine to medium gravels when core catchers are used.

Dual Tube Soil Sampling DT21

The DT21 sampling system uses Geoprobe 2.125 in. OD probe rods as an outer casting and Geoprobe 1.0 in. OD rods for the inner rod string. The main advantage of sampling through a cased hole is that there is no side slough to contend with. Additionally, the outer casing effectively seals the probe hole when sampling through perched water tables. Through these processes, this means that sample cross contamination is eliminated. Additional benefits include: sampling from a discrete depth, sampling all soil types in unconsolidated formations, and multi-interval continuous coring.

Large Bore Soil Sampling

The LB Soil Sampler is a solid barrel, piston-sealed, direct push device for collecting discrete interval samples of unconsolidated materials at depth. The sampler features easy driving, fast operation, minimal disturbance, and no cuttings. The LB Soil Sampler is used for discrete soil sampling, as the sampler remains completely sealed and is useful for: site investigations, brownfields assessments, remedial investigations/feasibility studies, RCRA facility assessments/investigations, corrective actions, UST investigations and removal, and ASTM and USCS soil classification.

Groundwater Sampling Remedial Injections

Groundwater sampling tools from Geoprobe systems are simple, cost-effective tools that have changed the way many environmental assessments and remedial investigations are conducted. These tools help to characterize the water quality and extent of potential contamination during environmental assessments and investigations of unconsolidated soils and sediments. The groundwater samplers are installed temporarily, a sample is collected, slug tests may be conducted, and the the sampler is removed, decontaminated, and moved to the next location.

Monitoring Well Installations/Abandonment

In addition to sampling, ESP Drilling offers monitoring of well installations/abandonment. Monitoring well installations ensures that all state and local regulatory compliance is followed and maintained on an annual basis.

Soil Gas Sampling

Soil gas sampling is a powerful tool in locating and delineating contamination. This active sampling method of using the Post Run Tubing (PRT) adapter with O-rings eliminates concerns about system leaks at threaded joints, and allows for a simple, effective extract of vapor samples.

Decontamination

ESP Drilling offers decontamination processes that ensure regulatory compliance, with the goal to achieve optimum levels of recovery and reuse. Different decontamination processes are used according to the types of contamination and the configuration of the site.

Angle and Vertical Geoprobing

Angle and vertical geoprobing is used for soil/groundwater sampling and air sparge/soil gas sampling. Through the latest technologies and tools, ESP Drilling specializes in these environmental sampling services throughout the Midwest.

Prepack Screen Installation

Many state regulatory agencies have approved the use of prepacked screen wells installed by direct push methods. Additionally, many federal agencies have specified the installation of direct push prepacked screen wells for permanent groundwater monitoring needs. ESP Drilling offers decades of experience and is able to install prepack screens according to all local and state regulations.

Temporary Piezometer Installation

Piezometers are essential for measuring pore water pressures in ground. ESP Drilling offers temporary piezometer installation compliant with all state and local regulations throughout the Midwest.
